“It’d be the same as Picasso employing Sharpies on the waxed surface of a paper, but instead of a piece of canvas, and oils paints” Says Dave Bayer, a mathematics professor at Barnard College in New York City.

It’s the world’s most mathematically-advanced kept secret

and among the academics, Hagoromo Fulltouch Chalk is the most well-kept math secret.

“It isn’t as easy to break in addition, the manner it’s written seems just right” Says Lieblich.

“It’s like skimming new powder.” Says Bayer.

“The legend surrounding the chalk states that there is no way to create an incorrect theorem using chalk, but I’ve proved that numerous instances,” says David Eisenbud who is a math professor in Berkeley’s University of California at Berkeley.

Hagoromo Stationery first began manufacturing chalk in Japan around 1932. however it wasn’t until the past few years that American mathematicians were enthralled by it.

“I discovered this when I was visiting at the University of Tokyo years ago and one of the professors … informed me”You know, we are better at chalking than we use in the States and that’s what” Eisenbud said. “I replied”Oh, come to chalk, it’s chalk … and was pleasantly surprised to discover that he was correct.’

“Since the brand was not allowed to export to the United States, mathematicians took to ordering chalk online and through “chalk dealer” who began to build an income selling chalk and other materials to academics.”

Hagoromo certainly has a fan base However, this cult may include a lot of mathematicians at this time. It’s definitely a group,” says Wei Ho who is a math professor of The University of Michigan.

The formula’s secret remains an unsolved mystery

“I think the key component that makes up Hagoromo includes angel tears.” Lieblich says. Lieblich.

“Someone claimed to me that the ice contained clam shells within the composition … It’s a mystery to me. do not know if this is real,” says Eisenbud.

Whatever the reason that it did, the fact that it worked was sufficient to spark an immense love and devotion among its users. The connection between a mathematician, and blackboards has been a tradition for many years.

As Lieblich says, “the board is like a window into the operations of the object therefore, visiting the board is similar to being in the magical glass . however, the only way to truly get a glimpse of what’s going on is through people writing using chalk.”

The blackboard is said to be a favorite by math professors. Bayer describes it as an “tactile … love connection” one that is a tribute to mathematicians of the past who were before them.

“You know, there’s a story about Archimedes drawing on the sand … however, I wouldn’t be shocked to find something similar to chalk as well as a blackboard also,” Eisenbud said.
